Job Description


Royal Building Products, a US building products manufacturer, has a full-time opening for a Supply Chain Supervisor position located at the vinyl siding manufacturing facility in Columbus, OH.  This position has responsibility for inventory management, procurement activities, production planning and scheduling, and Product Data Management (PDM).  This position supervises and provides direction and support to ensure production plans are executed and able to adapt and meet changing business needs.


Develops and implements control procedures within and across departments to optimize performance, work flow and compliance to company policies and procedures


  • Responsible for multi-site inventory management and accuracy of raw materials and finished goods including consignment locations
  • Responsible developing and implementing policies and procedures for inventory control, overseeing cycle counting policies, month-end and year-end inventory counts
  • Provides appropriate direction and support to team members to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of inventory controls systems and procedures


  • Directs procurement activities working with managers, supervisors and other employees as needed to ensure alignment of all departments in the company to effectively support company-wide business operations
  • Serve as the primary link between the company-wide and day-to-day operations and executive management to assure requisite requirements are sourced, inventoried and balanced to meet policies, procedures, operating and financial criteria
  • Effectively manage supplier relationships.  Participate in the supplier selection, qualification, evaluation and performance monitoring process with buyers.

Scheduling and Planning

  • Responsible for multi-site production scheduling and line configuration to maximize throughput, limit down time, and satisfy customer demand and inventory requirements
  • Develop the annual forecast for all SKUs; load and manage in JDEdwards
  • Responsible for Product Data Management (PDM) for the facility – creation and maintenance of all JDE catalog items, including all branch plants


  • Minimum of six years of direct supply chain experience
  • Must have inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Procurement experience with a strong background with complex buying responsibilities
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to develop concepts into actionable strategy and plans.
  • Proven ability to lead by influence throughout the organization
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to assess and evaluate requirements and develop action plans
  • Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is crucial


The role supervises two buyers, an inventory control clerk, a production planner and cycle counters.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee may lift, carry and/or move up to 15 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. In addition, mobility to travel between 2 facilities (North & South Plant) is required.


This position works in an office environment at a manufacturing plant and therefore will be exposed to manufacturing environments on a regular basis. Noise level is moderate and commensurate with an office area.
