Job Description


This position is responsible for advancing the manufacturing systems of NAPCO by improving existing operations, upgrading systems and implementing new technologies to ensure NAPCO’s position as a leader in the industry segment.  The role will drive continuous improvement in the major Key Operating Systems of Safety, Quality, People, Throughput, Service, and Cost, as well as, supporting Innovation and Business Growth.


The individual in this role will be responsible for driving company profitability by creating an environment of disciplined, structured, and collaborative continuous improvement across NAPCO through the application of the most appropriate technique for the situation.  These techniques include, but are not limited to Engineering Design, Lean Tools, Leadership Techniques, Statistical Analysis, Design of Experiments, Training Concepts, CAD Drawing, Decision Making Processes, Problem Solving Tools, Theory of Constraints, Process Modeling and others as appropriate.  The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with the Plant Teams, Corporate Functions, Suppliers, Industry Associations and Consultants to maximize results.

Specific duties include (but not limited to) the following as it applies to Safety, Quality, People, Throughput, Service, and Cost:

  • Optimize existing operations across NAPCO through process and reliability improvements.
  • Improve NAPCO capability by applying new technology to strategic systems.
  • Advance NAPCO through step-change product and/or process innovation.


  • High-Integrity, Highly-Motivated, Collaborative, Self-Starter.  
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, multi-task and deliver results simultaneously across the business.
  • Experience with PVC processing equipment and application with demonstrated ability to optimize performance is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in PVC/Pipe/Fittings, Extrusion, Maintenance Systems, and Control Systems is preferred.        
  • Experience with material handling systems including bulk handling, pneumatic handling and product handling is preferred.
  • Computer Skills – Microsoft Office, SAP, CAD, Inventor, Solid Works, CMMS, Simulation, and Online Conferencing is preferred.


B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technology field of study is required.  Knowledge in the PVC/Pipe/Fittings industry, PVC extrusion and fabrication, or closely related business is preferred.  Minimum of ten years of demonstrated results in engineering and/or process improvement is required.     


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  May require extended and flexible work hours.  May require travel up to 50% of the time.


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in the office.  The position requires the incumbent travel to the various manufacturing facilities as much as 50% of the time.  The work environment at the facilities can include excessive noise levels, exposure to weather elements, working around or adjacent to moving and mobile equipment and climbing ladders.  Appropriate personal protective equipment including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses and/or hard hats may be required while working in a facility.
