Job Description


Working under the general supervision of the shipping and receiving supervisor, following specific procedures, performs a variety of duties to accomplish the shipment of all finished goods and the receipt of all purchased materials.


  • Perform the primary thinking encompassed by this job description.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Safely and efficiently loads, finished goods on trucks.
  • Safely and efficiently receive purchased materials.
  • Maintain clean finished goods and work area.
  • Maintain and weekly inventories, receiving logs, load sheets and other related shipping and receiving documents.
  • Move finished goods from specified staging areas to finished goods storage area.
  • Fill LP gas tanks used on lift trucks.
  • Maintain the operations of the railroad site, silos, and pump house.
  • Perform routine maintenance on lift trucks.
  • Stuff pipe racks as required.
  • Assemble special order shipments (pieces).
  • Conduct inventories
  • Assist fellow employees as necessary.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Frequent exposure, 20-50% of work time (noise, cold, heat, dust) or hazardous conditions.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
