Job Description


The Kronos Sr. Functional Analyst in the Information Systems department will be responsible for the support and enhancement of the components of Workforce Central (WFC) including Time and Attendance, Employee Scheduling, Absence Management, Labor Activities, and Record Manager; 4500 and InTouch clocks; and Workforce Integration Manager (WIM) interface files, as well as future new components.  Responsibilities will encompass all project lifecycle phases including implementation, planning for upgrades and new modules, configuration setup and testing, security management, and deployment. This position provides daily operational support, user training and updating documentation for HR, Payroll and staff scheduling operations within Westlake.  This position utilizes knowledge and experience with a variety of human resources, benefits and payroll concepts, practices, and procedures to identify needs and create solutions to resolve them.  This position ensures that the Kronos system is secure, reliable and working as expected.


May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of WFC, WIM, 4500 and InTouch clocks to support company goals, standards, and policies. Document and execute system configuration and changes.
  • Provides WFC administration with maintenance of security roles, rules and groups as well as management and development of WIM interfaces
  • Develop an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of WFC applications, architectures, database schemas and development tools to properly and creatively use features to meet client needs
  • Create and troubleshoot hyper-find queries, genies and reports
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, vendor and contractor relationships
  • Lead projects following a defined project methodology to:  define project scope and objectives; develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports; conduct project meetings and provide project tracking and analysis; coordinate project cutover, go-live and support
  • Facilitate and lead analysis and design sessions with business users to document procedures and to gather functional requirements
  • Create functional designs and specifications for configuration, application security, reports, data conversions and interfaces
  • Coordinate quality assurance efforts by creating and executing unit, string, integration and user acceptance test plans
  • Ensure training materials and user skills are current and coordinate necessary user training
  • Research and resolve Kronos help desk incidents in compliance with the Business Unit and IS Management service level agreements
  • Monitor operation of critical business processes and application performance
  • Review and test software updates


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and/or 10 years equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years + of Kronos WFC Experience in an analyst or administrator role required.

  • 5 years + of hands on configuration and implementation experience with Kronos WFC.

  • Possess Kronos functional competencies in WFC including Time and Attendance, Employee Scheduling, Absence Management, Labor Activities, WIM and Record Manager
  • Can also possess ADP eTime competencies in lieu of Kronos competencies
  • Strong knowledge of interaction between all Kronos modules
  • In depth knowledge and ability to analyze, develop and implement complex Kronos pay rules, work rules,  pay codes, queries, update holidays, modify employee records, security, workforce attendance, calculated accrual configurations, access profiles, display profiles, organizational mapping, and other setups required for both browser-based and Kronos 4500 and InTouch clocks
  • Administer Kronos WFC including application servers, device managers, and SQL server databases
  • High degree of database management experience
  • In depth knowledge of Kronos 4500 & InTouch clock setup and configuration in Kronos Device Manager
  • Current knowledge of general timekeeping and payroll processes
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as a member of a team, or as team lead
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, critical thinking problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to write clear and concise requirements and design specifications
  • Proven experience in monitoring application performance and providing recommendations to optimize system performance
  • Experience developing and supporting WIM interfaces
  • Project management and leadership experience required
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and data
  • Strong working knowledge of scheduling and payroll systems and be able to understand and utilize applicable technology applications
  • Experience working on Kronos WFC version 6.3 or higher preferred, ADP eTime also acceptable
  • Experience Workday or other HR systems is a plus
  • Experience upgrading Kronos is a plus
  • SQL scripting knowledge is a plus


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an open office concept.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
