RELIABILITY ENGINEER

Westlake Chemical is offering an opportunity to apply your experience and skills as a Reliability Engineer based in Plaquemine, LA.  This position is responsible for driving improvements in maintenance costs and equipment reliability through effective reliability engineering.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical assistance to maintenance supervision in the repair and improvement of all process equipment.
  • Develop and improve maintenance procedures for repair of equipment.
  • Perform equipment failure analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Develop and lead PM programs such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, lubrication analysis, etc.
  • Follow equipment repair in shops to ensure timely and proper repair.
  • Work with other engineers to develop maintenance procedures for equipment repair.
  • Actively participate in process improvement programs such as Six Sigma, etc.
  • Demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety.
  • Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; EIT or PE certification a plus.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance/reliability/engineering work.
  • Industrial or plant experience preferred
  • Experience with various types of rotating/stationary equipment, and familiarity with corrosion mechanisms and solutions is desired.
  • Ability to troubleshoot recurring problems and determine solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; aggressive problem solving ability.
  • Able to work independently and as a part of a team; strong work planning and organizational skills required
