Job Description

SUMMARY:

This position is part of the Technical Service and Development group and is responsible for customer support, new product development, and plant support. The Development Technician role will be utilized to help support engineers and chemists with the tasks mentioned above and contribute to the success of the Compound group’s bottom line.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete Technical Work Request (TWR) assignments
  • Preparation of compounds
  • Hand-batching formulations
  • Milling
  • Sample preparation
  • Raw material analysis
  • Material testing both analytical and physical property testing
  • Support Quality Control department
  • Will ensure good housekeeping practices
  • Maintain a safe work environment while performing job duties
  • Provide analytical (lab and QC), process, and plant operational support for special projects
  • Understand and follows all Safety, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 established procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates Degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred with a background in chemistry or science
  • Minimum of 2 years in the chemical industry, with PVC Compounding experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Manufacturing environment includes: dust, outdoors, high noise levels.
