Royal Building Products is currently looking to fill a vacancy for a Logistics Clerk located in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

Located at our Abbotsford, B.C. pipe extrusion plant (3065 Sumas Mountain Road, V3G 2L4) and reporting to the Western Logistics Superintendent, this role will appeal to energetic, enthusiastic and career-oriented individuals who wish to advance their career in shipping and logistics with a successful manufacturing and sales organization.  You will join a Shipping Department team that interacts regularly with known customers with whom we have long and positive relationships.


  • Matching bills of lading to commercial freight invoices.
  • Maintains freight accrual system.
  • Files all completed receiving documentation matched to purchase orders.
  • Will be a main support for the shipping department with the implementation of the Transportation Management System (Bluebird TMS).
  • Provide backup support in the shipping office as required.
  • Matches and processes receiving documents for raw material, non-stock and finished goods Purchase Orders.
  • Coordinates with production plant procurement for non-stock and service purchase order receiving.
  • Maintains all filing requirements and records as required by SOX.
  • Participates in other Shipping and Logistics Department projects to help with team workload and to widen departmental knowledge to prepare for future promotion.


  • Two to four years’ experience with shipping/supply chain/inventory/re-stocking experience, preferably gained in a manufacturing or warehousing context.
  • You must offer excellent verbal and written communication skills and work well in an environment where good customer service means coping ably with tight shipping deadlines without loss of accuracy.
  • Previous shipping experience via a major computer platform (e.g.: JDE or SAP).
  • Post-secondary education relevant to shipping and logistics (e.g.: B.C.I.T. Operations Management, Transportation or APICS).
