Job Summary:


Grind scrap plastic pieces for reprocessing back into plastic moulding.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Check to ensure that scrap fed into grinder is not contaminated with wood, or dirt and oil.
  • Grade moulding as to colors before grinding.
  • Load graded moulding into grinder.
  • Prepare necessary paperwork.
  • Keep area clean and orderly.
  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
  • Comply with established safety rules and use required safety equipment.
  • Comply with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, leads, supervisors, and managers.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of supervisor/manager and/or lead.

  • Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Experience

Two to three years related experience or training.  Material handling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Skills

Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Communication

Communicate in writing and orally with supervisor, lead, and other employees. Write simple correspondence and effectively present information to the supervisor, manager, lead or other employees of the organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, and is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Eye and hearing protection including face shield is required at all times in the grinding area.
