Job Description

  • The Electrical Engineer develops a basic and detailed design of new projects as well as modifications to existing facilities while working with voltages and equipment from 110V up to and including 69KV. He or she also participates in optimizing and troubleshooting existing operations

  • The Sr. Electrical Engineer provides value to the Engineering Organization by:

    • Developing Specifications and Designs for new Electrical Power Systems

    • Act as a Technical Resource for Operations and Maintenance in Rectifier and Generator Systems

    • Initiate electrical system reliability projects to improve system reliability. Submit major capital reliability projects for a budget with proper justification

    • Provide technical assistance in Electrical Safety issues

    • Provide electrical system maintenance work scopes to the maintenance group for major unit shutdowns

    • Investigate electrical failures as necessary to determine root cause and recommend appropriate solutions to reduce or eliminate re-occurrence of failure


  • B.S. or higher degree in Electrical Engineering. At least 3 years experience in electrical systems design and maintenance is desired

  • Candidate should have a solid background in motor control, switchgear installation, high voltage circuits, electrical system studies, and knowledge of relevant codes

  • Work well in a team environment, balance multiple projects, and be able to make effective technical presentations

  • Have project management skills to allow him or her to function as a project manager on predominately electrical projects

  • Have working knowledge of SKM power tools computer program to be able to run load flow, short circuit, and arc flash studies. Capable of working with a team of other discipline engineers that support chemical manufacturing operations

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Candidates must be authorized to work permanently in the United States

  • Candidate should be able to read elementary diagrams, one line, and three line drawings
