Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

The essential duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Converse with equipment operators to ascertain problems with equipment before breakdown, and to determine if breakdown is due to electrical mechanical problems.
  • Test faulty equipment and operation of mechanical and electrical systems to diagnose cause of malfunction.
  • Replace defective components and wiring and adjust mechanical parts.
  • Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
  • Repair and calibrate electrical heat controls.
  • Trouble shoot & Maintain AC and DC drives, controls, electrical circuits, and monitoring instruments.
  • Report any repeat problem areas to lead or engineering and suggest permanent fixes to these areas.
  • Assist in evaluation of new electrical equipment as requested.
  • Troubleshoot both in-line and on the bench, repair and replace components. Differentiate between good and bad SCR, diodes, transistors, capacitors, and zener diodes.
  • Be able to troubleshoot product defects with the proper test instruments, and know whether the trouble is thermocouple or temperature control and be able calibrate control within 3 degree.
  • Be able to program or change program in Programmable temperature controls and AC Drives. 
  • Check fuses, continuity on electrical wiring, check programmable heat controls, extruder controls, scale controls.
  • Be able to run conduit, calculate power loads, and know wire sizes and their capacities.
  • Tools: Be able to read and understand volt OHM meter, amp meter.
  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
  • Comply with established safety rules.
  • Comply with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain proper work attitude and safe working habits.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, lead, supervisors, and managers.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of supervisor and/or lead.
  • Able to work 12 Hr. shifts, days or nights.

EDUCATION

  • Certificate, Diploma or Associates in electrical/electronic technology, and three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential skills and qualifications:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Communicate in writing and orally with supervisors, leads, and other employees.
  • Carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
