Job Description


Gathers data and conducts analysis with the goal of optimizing the capacity plan balancing customer requirements, production efficiencies, storage costs and transportation costs to optimize the production and distribution network.


Design capacity plans to support revenue growth, customer service improvements and optimization of the supply chain network. Work with cross-functional teams and/or external resources to develop cost effective solutions. Utilize supply chain knowledge and analytical skills to conduct comprehensive supply chain analyses of company’s operations. Identify opportunities to optimize the supply chain network design to reduce costs, improve customer service and improve overall supply chain performance. Address strategic and operational challenges by applying quantitative modeling and analysis to customer service improvement profitability assessment, supply chain engineering, transportation optimization, strategic network design, inventory management strategies and warehousing/ distribution operations. Support the development of supply chain network optimization as part of network modeling team (external or internal) that supports supply chain organization goals and objectives. Support the process of evaluating and determining ideal manufacturing and/or distribution locations by utilizing a Total Landed Cost methodology and customer service requirements. Interact with internal resources to identify requirements, constraints, and objectives of a given capacity problem.  Once work is complete, prepare support of supply chain designs, options and cost analysis and associated ROI. As part of the network optimization project, responsible for making recommendations on capacity upgrades that may impact capital spending decisions. Develop/maintain analytical tools to improve the quality of the capacity solution designs and/or increase the productivity of the team.


Builds strong working relationships with internal and/or external customers. Takes the initiative to solve customer problems and delivers what the customer is promised. Utilizes change management methodologies to drive organizational change. Expresses ideas effectively through sponsor presentations or less formally through written and verbal communications. Financial Acumen and Budgeting Experience. Communication Proficiency. SAP and JDE experience preferred.


4 year degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or Technology.  A minimum of 5 years of experience across multiple Supply Chain Disciplines preferred. Experience with relevant Supply Chain technologies such as ERP, Manufacturing Execution Systems and Warehouse Management Systems Expert level knowledge of MS Office Suite Experience in lean and other continuous improvement initiatives, including six-sigma applications.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  He employee frequently is required to walk.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
