8 Seasonal Take-Off Operators:

Abbotsford Pipe (3065 Sumas Mountain Road, Abbotsford, B.C., V3G 2L4) is developing a list of potential applicants to be hired over the next two to three months with employment commencing as early as April 1st.  We are seeking enthusiastic, positive candidates who wish to contribute to a successful operation.  Seasonal Take-Off Operators will be trained to monitor and operate their production line in our 10-extruder operation.  Over time, you will be trained on additional lines to improve operational flexibility.  Key objectives for members of the production team are to Safely maximize production Yield while maintaining high line Net Production while participating in positive, effective 2-way Communications with co-workers and supervisors (or SYNC).    

All applicants must be able to work any shift, including nightshift and weekends, in our 7/24 facility.  We operate the plant under a 12-hour shift system (8:00 to 8:00) which has the benefit of only requiring seven work days in a 2-week pay period.  We are also seeking applicants who understand that employees make key contributions to developing a pro-safe work environment.

Candidates must be grade 12 graduates, at minimum.  However, since seasonal employees ultimately form a significant proportion of the candidates subsequently selected for full-time positions, additional consideration will be given to applicants offering completed post-secondary studies relevant to manufacturing.  Other qualifications of interest would include Level II first aid, current forklift certifications, etc.

Abbotsford Pipe offers an hourly rate of $15.05/hr. plus night shift premium ($0.50) and Continuous Shift Premium ($0.20/hr).   Regular hours of work are assured (i.e.: this is not a spare board).  The advantage of our plant shift schedule is that every employee earns an additional four hours per pay period which are compensated at double time (producing a true average rate of pay on a 40-hour per week equivalency of $17.00/hr.).
